Homemade cottage cheese with just four ingredients? Yes please! This simple recipe was given to us by Erika, one of our valued customers, and it’s so delicious we had to share it with you. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

6 litres Made By Cow Cold Pressed Raw Milk

2 x 600 mls buttermilk

1 or 2 tsp salt (depending on taste)

1.5 cups white vinegar

Method:

Pour milk, buttermilk and salt into a large saucepan. Heat slowly until small bubbles begin to form around the edge, while stirring gently so the milk doesn’t catch.

Turn off the heat, add the vinegar and stir through.

Leave to cool in the fridge (you can leave it overnight). Place a cheesecloth in a colander and pour the mixture in. Leave to drain for 30-60 minutes, then the cottage cheese is ready to enjoy!

TIP: Add a bowl under the colander to collect the whey to use in other things. And if you don’t have a cheesecloth, an old T-shirt will work just as well!
